College B Ball pick em updateAlright guys. Ive been traveling all over the country the past few weeks but Im done traveling

Bib's College Football Pick 'em 4: Week 14Alright so here's how this is going to go.
I'll come up with 12 games every week. I'll try to have them up on Monday or Tuesday of each week. I'll try to choose games between bowl caliber teams and choose the best 12 matchups I can find overall. Ohio has the better defense but based on the way each team finished I think NIU has more steam. It would be epicly epic if UCLA were to make it happen but... yeah lol Houston comes in hot having beatten two of the better teams in the conference convincingly when I thought they would be challenged. Meanwhile So Miss has had some close ones of late. Cant pick the upset here. Poor Syracuse has lost 4 in a row... Pitt has a couple of losses down the stretch but both are at least respectable. It seems Cinci has gotten their ish together.. might not be in time to steal that Big East crown though. I guess K state is the pick but they appear to play to the level of their competition and Iowa State is unpredictable here. Im sure Baylor will find a way to have this be a close game... or maybe Griffin will finally make some kind of statement. I honestly think Georgia might have enough offense to get it done... However they are inconsistent, and LSU is not. Hawaii is kinda sputtering down the stretch here and with the honor code at BYU I dont think they'll be getting too crazy. Oklahoma's 2 losses are to teams with all offense and no defense................... Clemson just got beat by two teams that run the ball and play defense... Virginia Tech runs the ball and plays defense. I expect similar results. Wisconsin seems to have tightened up here at the end... damn shame. Nebraska also has a better defense and is at home. Tulsa's 3 losses were to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Boise. Not exactly bad losses. meanwhile houston's best game was between UCLA and SMU... yeah. Tulsa also is at home and Houston has had some struggles on the road against Louisiana Tech (1 point win) and UTEP (won by a TD) Houston's offense is #1 against that weak schedule while Tulsa's is #18 despite the 3 top teams theyve played. Should be close with Houston knowing this is thier biggest test but I like Tulsa's chances. I was fully prepared to take Arkansas until I looked at their road performances.... 3 point win AT vanderbilt, 5 point win AT ole miss. and of course the Bama loss was on the road also. Theyve played well and i think they have the talent to beat LSU but they seem to go down a level on the road. LSU wins something like 27-17 What happened to AZ state??? Wow I wanted to take Tech but they come limping in here. I guess Georgia kinda does too having barely beatten Kentucky but Georgia got it rolling late in the year while Tech kinda cooled off. Im going to take the cuse... both coming in off of some rough games but The cuse are at home and had two weeks to prepare for this one. Very tempted to take Virginia but I cant... Tech needs to get to the ACC title game and get revenge against Clemson. They also have a shot at the NCAA title Alabama still has a shot at the national title... they may look to run it up in this one. Wisconsin blew their shot at the NCAA title for me... and I'd love for Penn State to get there despite their turmoil but Wisconsin seems to have recovered from their little slide now that they have ruined their shot so they should take care of business here. When the opponent of the SEC team is the better defensive team that proabably doesnt bid well for the SEC team... lol State should take this. It took me a while to come to this decision. I did a lot of intesive research. I even talked to the coaches. Interviewed severl players, developed a formula. But you know that is complete bull. 18 wins is the most combined in the series history and we're both looking to hit 10 wins... Clemson's starting tackle will play despite his MCL strain. If he isnt 100% I could see 8 sacks happening. NC state got 6. If we can get pressure on Boyd it should be a W, if not it could get ugly. I know Spurrier has some tricks up his sleeve on offense as well. Should be a fun one. Early in the year I argued with somebody about Notre Dame and I think I said they'd have a good year because they had a weak schedule... fastforward and they had some tough games.. but they lost all but one of them. Stanford gets this W and pads the resume as they hold out hope for the title game. I just realized Illinois has lost 4 straight... I doubt they turn it around against Wisconsin. Havent gotten to see Nebraska really this year but they arent as good as I thought they would be and I figured that out pretty early on. i wasnt impressed with what they did last week and Michigan is at home and has been pretty consistent. I'll say they got caught sleeping on the road against Iowa but this happens in sports. Other games theyve done what was expected. Same here. Cinci's last 3 games have been decided by 3 points which means to me that they're playing to their opponent. Both have a 3 point win over USF and a loss to WV but I think I like Rutgers in this one. You know what you're going to get from them and that defense and Cinci will likely play to them as it is. Im thinking Iowa will win something like 28-17... Purdue is coming off of the big win over Ohio State and have only lost one at home but I trust Iowa more to perform here. Alright Penn State you're away from home, you're a week removed. Neither of you is exactly impressive. Make it happen. I spend a lot of time picking against Miami... going to roll with them on the road. jacorry doesnt seem to be as much of a wild card as he used to be. That awkward moment when Texas Tech forgot how to score and Missouri didnt... and oh yeah Tech still has no defense either. I went back and forth on this one... I was going to pick FSU because they are rolling... then Virginia because theyre consistent. In the end FSU has a strong D, and theyre great against the run, which virginia is going to need to do well if they plan to win. I say Virginia wins if they can turn FSU over but I'll roll with Florida State. . Boise showed weakness in only beating Air Force by 11... The TCU game was the last game I took off of last week's game list. A loss here by Boise would have surprised me less if they hadnt just lost. They should regroup and come out angry. Barely beating Missouri and Kansas coming into this game. Not exactly enticing me to pick the upset here... I've been building up to this all year... I felt like they were going to shake things up when they started getting hot. I wanted to pick them against Stanford but I wanted Luck in the BCS but didnt. here I have no reason to hold back. Besides the win over Stanford, which looked worse than it was for Stanford, Oregon hasnt been dominating teams. These teams played Washington in back to back weeks, each allowing them 17, USC scored a TD more but we'll call it even. Oregon did this on the road but eh. Now weather may become a factor apparently as it may snow in Eugene but the trojans strength on D is their run D which is oregon's strength on offense. I like the matchup. Should be a good game. Having only held one opponent under 24 points. and their having an explosive offense, i wouldnt be uber surprised if Tech won.. however after losing 41-7 to iowa state... kinda hard to roll with tech. West Virginia's losses (besides LSU of course) make no sense but whatever. I'll go with the team that's at home and does what they are supposed to do weekly on the field I'll take the Nits... theyre at home, defense is why they win Those guys will play angry. I want them to win this game anyway and Nebraska has confused me all year. Joe Pa, Joe Pa I was fully prepared to take Iowa but none of their wins besides the one last week impress me. and they had that loss to minnesotta. yes Im aware that state barely beat minnesotta themselves but im more familiar with this team. I'll take K state to rebound at home... we can forgive them for losing to Ok state and OU. 4 straight dominant wins for the noles means they've gotten themselves together and theyre at home... and I still dont trust miami. Im picking Auburn though I kinda feel Georgia is the better team. Georgia has had close wins against the bottom feeders of the SEC while Auburn has taken care of business against them. yes I benefit (potentially) from Georgia losing and that helped sway me. I feel this well be a one score game... could go either way. That purdue loss by Illinois hurts my soul.. I usually look at the last 3 games first. Then I see that illinois has skated by in almost all of their wins. Michigan it is. SC has hit a groove and I look to see them continue rolling. In hindsight I probably shouldnt have put this game on here... unless you think bama will get caught slipping somehow. Oh well. We saw USC almost do it to Stanford but they were at home and this is on the road... Oregon has a better offense than USC but USC has a better defense. You've gotta be able to stop/slow Stanford to beat them I dont think a shoot out is the way to go Tough one to pick... I hate picking defensive teams for some reason. This game is pretty evenly matched honestly... so I'll just take the home team. I said that UNC was better offensively and defensively or something like that. blah blah blah they lost. I picked Oklahoma cus I said they know they still can win the Big 12 and wont get caught slipping again... I picked Rutgers because this is an offense vs defense matchup and the defense wins most of those... although Rutgers has bitten me twice. I dont even remember if I picked Missouri or Baylor... I think Missouri. I remember saying that all 3 of Baylor's losses were on the road and that was my only reason for even hesitating to pick Missouri over them. Arkansas could very well win this game... but I dont see why yall are all on them seeing as how theyve had close games with Troy, and in the past two weeks Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt. Meanwhile yes we only beat Tennessee 14-3... but we didnt have to score if we held them to 3. Mississippi state was Shaw's first road test. Im sure spurrier was playing it safe. I predict this game will be in the 20's something like 24-28, 28-35 something like that. SC has the #3 pass D in the country because our corners and safeties are ballhawks. Spurrier plays to the competition so he'll let shaw throw this week however I think we found that shaw is better when we call designed runs for him. Im using this game to decide how seriously I take my team's BCS chances. Arizona state has beatten the teams they should have.. lost to Oregon on the road and Illinois on the road in a close one. I cant be mad at them for that. Here they play a UCLA team that is coming off of a nice win against Cal but AZ state is pretty consistent. Theyre the better team so they will get it done. I want this to be a close/fun game but K State's d didnt look so tough last week against OU and if they are going to play like that theres no way they beat OK State either. I based my pick mostly on Notre Dame having a solid passing D... seeing as how Wake likes to air it out. I feel like LSU is going to force some turnovers... I'll admit I was going to pick them going in and then realized Bama was performing better than I thought but LSU feels like theyve turned up their D a bit since the beginning of the season even. If Washington had a decent defense I could pick them... but they dont. So I wont. Bib's College Football Pick 'em 4: Week 9Alright so here's how this is going to go.
I'll come up with 12 games every week. I'll try to have them up on Monday or Tuesday of each week. I'll try to choose games between bowl caliber teams and choose the best 12 matchups I can find overall. You'll pick the winners and post them here or on the GB10 thread, PM them to me, just get them to me. Whether you post them here or not, I will add them to the blog to make them easy to keep up with. Tough pick for me.. in the end I think the confidence boost that Michigan State got with the Win over wisconsin will go a long way. State is weaker on the road and Nebraska seems to have tightened up but I'll let my bias win this one. Fairly evenly matched here... Wake the better D. Carolina the better O. I would normally take Wake but they almost lost to Duke on the road last week so I say they will lose to UNC here on the road. Im going against my bias... it hasnt gotten me anywhere. i have no idea how the hell syracuse OWNED WV as bad as LSU did. But I do know that Rutgers has a much better defense than them and an equal offense. Offense vs. defense. I say that and pick offense each time. I'll take defense at home. Sooners are still a perennial powerhouse... I cant see them losing two in a row. At the end of the Tech game they got it together. They will come out ready this time. If Baylor was home I'd be more inclined to take them But their 2 losses are both on the road. and this is a road game. I have no idea what happened to SMU last week... but Ill assume it wont be a trend Was gonna let bias make me pick Illinois but nah... Penn State it is. AZ state win is the only good win for Illinois If Florida could win this game that would be greaaaaaaat... Georgia is the better team though. Do it for me G tech... do it for me Wisconsin did lose to a defensive team but... State has a much better defense. and a better offense than Ohio state so. boom Stanford has toyed with everybody... Im thinking NC state 27-19 or something like that I think Cal will welcome an opponent without a prolific offense... After a rough start Notre Dame seems to be firing on all cylinders. USC has been winning but.. theyve been weird to me. I like the balance of Notre Dame to pull this one out. Took me forever to pick this one... finally decided SMU beat TCU on the road. Southern Miss' loss was to Marshall and SMU's to Texas A&M. and then after I had already decided I see that So. Miss has had 2 weeks to prepare... oh well Ill stick with the stangs Youre probably gonna need a little bit of a defense to beat Oklahoma Washington has a chance... to be the first team to break 20 against Stanford. Meanwhile Stanford will be in the 40's or higher and this W should help them in the BCS standings. I WANT WISCONSIN IN THE SHIP!!! Yeah I said it out loud now. Felt good to say. I plan to watch this game to decide if Wisconsin is what I think they are with this Michigan state defense #1 against the pass and #3 against the rush??? my goodness.
